Outdoor Furniture in Mediterranean Light

Project at a glance

  • The task. Create an image series for a light-colored outdoor lounge collection — sofa, side table and lounge chair — combining wide terrace views with close-ups on upholstery and weave.
  • The purpose. Give the furniture, architecture and planting one shared visual direction, with the products shown from different angles across a consistent setting.
  • The benefits. A full 3D terrace scene built from moodboards and material references, reusable for further angles, crops or seasonal variations from the same foundation.

The full series

The terrace as part of the visual concept

Outdoor furniture and accessories are defined by material, light and atmosphere. This image series centers on a light-colored lounge set and its surfaces — wide views place the furniture on the terrace, close-ups reveal the upholstery and weave. We built the digital outdoor setting so furniture, architecture and planting share one visual direction, with warm wood decking, pale plaster and olive green defining the scene, and side lighting revealing the texture of the cushions and woven frames against dark tabletops.

From model to surface

The work began with moodboards and material boards, from which we built the furniture and terrace as a full 3D scene. The gallery pairs views without finished materials and lighting alongside the final renderings, showing how the 3D modeling establishes the basis for the finished images. Woven frames, upholstery and wood each needed a different surface treatment, with their texture and response to light developed specifically for close-up views.

Light reveals the materials

Sunlight and shadows from the plants divide the terrace into areas of light and shade, and our detail images follow that light across cushions, woven armrests and wood decking. The light-colored seats stay distinct from the background throughout, with light and shadow giving the furniture its depth.

The collection and its details

The sequence moves between the full seating arrangement, individual pieces and close-ups — an elevated view shows the layout, closer views focus on cushions, edges and the weave. The setting stays consistent throughout the series, so different crops still belong to the same visual world, with the space suggesting time spent outdoors without taking attention away from the product.
